Transportation Options

Before the Ride
Raleigh-Durham to Mount Airy (Oct 3): $100 - Cycle North Carolina offers riders the option to leave their vehicle in Raleigh-Durham (an additional $25 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle) and take a bus to the start of the ride in Mount Airy. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken Mount Airy. The bus will leave Raleigh-Durham at 10am on Saturday, October 3. Check in will begin at 9am. Travel time typically ranges from 3 to 4 hours.

3-day Western Bus
Henderson to Mount Airy (Oct 6): $100 - This transportation option is primarily for those participating in the 3-day Western Option. This option provides you with the ability to leave your vehicle at the long term parking location in Mount Airy (an additional $15 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle), ride your bike for three days and then hop on a bus back to your vehicle. This bus will depart Henderson on Tuesday at 5:00pm with bus loading beginning 30 minutes prior to departure. The estimated travel time is typically between 2.5 to 3 hours. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken back to the start of the ride. Only two wheel upright traditional bikes are allowed.

After the Ride
Hatteras Island to Henderson (Oct 10): $100 - This transportation option is primarily for those participating in the 4-day Eastern Option. This option provides you with the ability to leave your vehicle in the short term parking location in Henderson (an additional $15 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle), ride your bike for four days and then hop on a bus back to your vehicle at the end of the ride. This bus will depart at 5:00pm on Saturday, October 10. The estimated travel time is 3 to 3.5 hours. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken back to Henderson.

Hatteras Island to Weldon (Oct 10): $100 - This transportation option is primarily for those participating in the 3-day Eastern Option. This option provides you with the ability to leave your vehicle in the short term parking location in Weldon (an additional $15 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle), ride your bike for three days and then hop on a bus back to your vehicle at the end of the ride. This bus will depart at 5:00pm on Saturday, October 10. The estimated travel time is 3 to 3.5 hours. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken back to Weldon.

Hatteras Island to Edenton (Oct 10): $100 - This transportation option is primarily for those participating in the 2-day Eastern Option. This option provides you with the ability to leave your vehicle in the short term parking location in Edenton (an additional $15 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle), ride your bike for two days and then hop on a bus back to your vehicle at the end of the ride. This bus will depart at 5:00pm on Saturday, October 10. The estimated travel time is 2 to 2.5 hours. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken back to Edenton.

Hatteras Island to Manteo (Oct 10): $65 - This transportation option is primarily for those participating in the Last Day Only option. This option provides you with the ability to leave your vehicle in the short term parking location in Manteo, ride your bike for the last day and then hop on a bus back to your vehicle at the end of the ride. This bus/van will depart at 5:00pm on Saturday, October 10. The estimated travel time is 1 hour. All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck and taken back to Manteo.

Hatteras Island to Raleigh-Durham (Oct 11): $100 - This transportation option is available for those who parked their car in the long term parking location in Raleigh-Durham (an additional $25 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle) or those just needing to get back to the Raleigh-Durham area at the end of the ride. Departure will be on Sunday, October 11 at 8:00am from the campsite and hotels. Travel time is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.  All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck on Saturday after you have crossed the finish line.

Hatteras Island to Mount Airy (Oct 11): $150 - This transportation option is available for those who parked their car in the long term parking area in Mount Airy (an additional $25 parking fee is required to leave your vehicle). Departure will be on Sunday, October 11 at 8:00am from the campsite and hotels. Travel time is approximately 6 hours plus a stop for lunch along the way.  All bikes will be loaded on a CNC Bike Transport Truck on Saturday after you have crossed the finish line. No trikes, recumbents or velomobiles are permitted.

*The bus options on Saturday, October 10 will depart from the end of the ride in Hatteras Island. The bus options on Sunday, October 11 will depart from the official Cycle NC hotels in Nags Head and the campsite in Manteo.
